IAC BASEBALL: NOTRE DAME STRIKES EARLY IN WIN OVER WHITNEY POINT (2025-04-23)

SOUTHPORT — Notre Dame scored four first-inning runs on their way to a 7-2 win over Whitney Point on Wednesday.

After Whitney Point scored a run in the top of the first the Crusaders answered with four in the bottom half of the inning.

Notre Dame added a run in the third and two in the sixth.

Jhamez Boyd and Casey Kraeger combined on a two-hitter in the win. Boyd went six innings, allowing one run on two hits, striking out five. Kraeger allowed an unearned run on no hits or walks with two strikeouts in one inning.

Luke Richards had two hits, with a double and Sebastian Capriotti had two hits, with a double and three RBI.

Anthony Barkley, Brendan O’Brien, Malachi Cain and Colton Welch all had hits in the game. Barkley, O’Brien and Cain all scored two runs in the game and Boyd scored a run for the Crusaders.
