HIGH SCHOOL GIRLS' GOLF: ABEL EARNS MEDALIST HONORS AS CORNING GETS PAIR OF WINS (2025-04-22)
Southern Tier Sports ReportWAVERLY — The Corning Hawks girls’ golf team picked up a pair of wins in a trio-meet at Tomasso’s on Tuesday afternoon.
Corning shot 188, Waverly was at 197 and Marathon shot 224.
Delaney Abel earned medalist honors with a 38 for the Hawks.
Jaedyn Vernacotola shot a 43, third best among any golfer on the day, and Amanda Hall shot a 53. Tess Barber had a round of 54. Kamryn Fusare shot a 88.
Waverly got a 46 from Breanne Robinson and Sophia Sileo shot 48, while Addison Hunt was at 49.
Emilia Mitchell shot 54 and Lauryn DeLill had a 56.
Olivia Cheresnowsky shot 58 and Kendal Shaffer and Kiley Stillman had rounds of 69.
Savanna Warfield led Marathon with a 42, second best on the day. Paityn Contri shot a 56 and Sophia VanCise had a round of 60.
Alina Parker had a 66 and Kennedy Eaton shot a 67.
