DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – The Elmira College Cheerleading program is bringing back some hardware from Florida, as the Soaring Eagles captured their fourth national championship in the Advanced Small Coed Division on Friday at the 2025 NCA & NDA College Nationals. Elmira also placed third in the Advanced All-Girl Division after competing in the Intermediate Division last year.

In the Advanced All-Girl Division finals, Elmira received a raw score of 87.5 for its performance with 1.75 in deductions. The number brought the Soaring Eagles' total event score to 85.375 to secure a third-place finish after returning to the Advanced Division for the first time in almost four years.

Alma College delivered a raw score of 93.3333 to go along with an overall event score of 92.0792 to claim the national championship. SUNY Cortland produced a runner-up finish with a raw score of 90.4333 to go along with an overall event score of 89.8083.

In the Advanced Small Coed Division finals, the Soaring Eagles crushed their routine on the Bandshell, as Elmira received a raw score of 89.9333 with a 0.25 deduction. The Soaring Eagles topped last year's champion, Montclair State University, who recorded an overall event score of 88.0208 to go along with a raw score of 89.1333 from its final performance. Bridgewater State University placed third with an overall event score of 87.5709.

With the first-place finish, Elmira adds to its national championship trophy case. The Soaring Eagles captured first-place honors in 2000 and 2007 before returning to the top with another national championship in 2022. The Soaring Eagles continue their consistency on the national stage, as Elmira has recorded a top-four finish at nationals each year since 2014.
