COLLEGE BASEBALL: HORSEHEADS GRAD RUHMEL HELPS KEUKA SPLIT WITH ELMIRA COLLEGE (24 PHOTOS) (2025-04-08)

HORSEHEADS — Horseheads graduate Ian Ruhmel and the Keuka College baseball team recently split with Elmira College at Holding Point.

Keuka won the opener 7-1 and Elmira won the nightcap 14-4.

Ruhmel started in center field both games. He was 1-for-3 with a run scored in the opener. Xander Canfield had two hits for Elmira College.

Ruhmel was 2-for-2 with a run scored in the nightcap. He stole a base in the game. Brett Warden was 2-for-2 with three runs scored and four RBI for Elmira.

Connor Stone was 3-for-4 with a home run, two RBI and a run scored and Brady Buttice was 3-for-4 with a home run, an RBI and three runs scored.

Elmira graduate Bobby Cavalier plays for Elmira College. He has played in 11 games, with one start. He has a .300 averaged with a triple, a home run and five RBI.

Ruhmel is third on the team for Keuka College with a .309 average. He has 10 runs scored and seven RBI and has three stolen bases. He has started all 22 games.

Notre Dame grad Logan Meisner has played in seven games with one start. He is hitting .250 with an RBI.

Edison grad Michael Brown has played in nine games, with three starts. He is hitting .214 with a double an two RBI.

Corning grad Mason Smith has made eight appearances on the mounds with two starts. He also has one at-bat. Smith has pitched 21 innings, fourth on the team, with 17 strikeouts.
