Southern Tier Sports ReportCORNING — The Corning softball team moved to 2-0 on the year with a 12-0 win over Williamson on Friday afternoon.
Corning scored six in the fourth to break the game open and the Hawks won the game in five innings.
Matti Johnston threw the five inning complete game, allowing three hits and no walks, striking out six.
Sophia Schoonover had two hits, with a double, three RBI and two runs scored and Emelia Smith had two hits, with an RBI and two runs scored.
Johnston had a hit and scored a run and Lauren DeRosa scored three runs in the game.
Kayleigh Sparks had an RBI and a run scored and Daphne Sherman, Mia Madden and Keana Mann scored runs in the game.
