SOUTHPORT — On a perfect day to run, the United By Color, Ernie Davis Awareness Color Run Fundraiser, was held at Notre Dame on Saturday morning.

It went really well,” said Notre Dame senior Makenna Keough, who organized the event. “I’m really excited. Everyone had a good time and I think it was a really fun event. We got lucky and the weather was good and it was a great day.”

With some chances of rain in the forecast, things stayed clear for the run.

“There was a chance of rain, so we were a little cautious about that, but we got lucky and it’s not too hot, not too cold,” Keough said.

Keough was happy to see the support of so many of the sports teams at Notre Dame.

“The track team was out here, the boys’ lacrosse and baseball teams,” she said. “I’m so grateful, some of them volunteered and some of them ran. It was a great day of team bonding too, so it was great.”

And, a fun time was held by all during the day.

“It looks like everyone had a ton of fun,” Keough said. “Even after the race at the Photo Booth and with their friends hanging out. I think everyone was having a really good time.

“It’s great, we get to spread awareness about discrimination, while also having a good time with friends.”
