STSR PRESENTS THE DRAKE HVAC ATHLETES OF THE WEEK: CORNING'S MCLAUGHLIN AND PROUDFOOT (2025-03-13)

Southern Tier Sports Report
There were a lot of great performances this week, leading to some tough choices for the first athlete of the week honors of the season. In the end, it was Corning’s Cella McLaughlin who are the Southern Tier Sports Report, sponsored by Drake HVAC Heating Ventilation Air Conditioning Athletes of the Week.

CELLA MCLAUGHLIN
Corning, Track and field
Won a state title in the 55 hurdles, tying her PR with an 8.03 in the finals. Also had a PR in the long jump, finishing fourth in the state in the event.

NOLYN PROUDFOOT
Corning, boys’ basketball
Had 34 points to help lead the Hawks rally for a win in the Section IV, Class AAA boys’ championship.
