COLLEGE WOMEN'S LACROSSE: CORNING GRAD GILL NAMED MAAC PLAYER OF WEEK AFTER RECORD-TYING 8-GOAL GAME FOR NIAGARA (2025-03-10)

Southern Tier Sports Report
Corning graduate Maddy Gill was named the MAAC Women’s Lacrosse Player of the Week on Monday after a record-tying game for Niagara University.

Gill had a record-tying game on Sunday against Central Michigan, scoring eight goals, including the overtime game winner to help Niagara to a 12-11 win over the Chippewas.

The eight goals by Gill ties the Niagara women’s lacrosse single game record set by former teammate Andra Savage in 2024.

The Corning graduate added a goal in Niagara’s loss to Pitt earlier in the week for a total of nine on the week. Gill is tied for the MAAC lead with 22 goals, while leading the conference in goals per game at 3.14.

The junior now has 44 career goals, and through seven games this year she is one ahead of last year’s season total of 21.
