SECTION 4 BOYS' BASKETBALL: ND TOPS UNATEGO TO ADVANCE TO SECTIONAL QUARTERS (11 PHOTOS) (2025-02-25)

SOUTHPORT — The Notre Dame boys’ basketball team advanced in the Section IV, Class C playoffs with a 73-51 win over Unatego on Tuesday night.

Ten different players scored for Notre Dame in the win.

Finn Schweizer had 12 points, with a three, and Max O’Connor and Rocco Sayers each had 10 points for the Crusaders. Sayers had two threes.

Pat McCarthy had three threes, all in the third quarter, for nine points and Luke Richards had eight points, six in the opening quarter.

Landon English and Caleb White each had six points and Menelik Jenkins finished with five points.

Jackson Potter had four points and Gabe Patterson finished with three points.

Notre Dame led 21-12 after one quarter and 37-29 at the half. The Crusaders outscored Unatego 24-8 in the lead to go up 61-37 after three quarters.

Notre Dame, the fifth seed, take on No. 4 Newfield at 6 p.m. on Friday at Newfield in the quarterfinals.
