STAC BOYS' BASKETBALL: CORNING FALLS TO BINGHAMTON IN STAC FINAL (2024-02-21)
Southern Tier Sports ReportENDICOTT — The Corning boys’ basketball team fell in the STAC final on Friday 91-49 to Binghamton.
It was a 31-29 game in the first half when Binghamton went on a 26-0 run until 2:52 left in the third quarter when Mekai Daniels hit a jumper. At that point it was 57-29 before Daniels hit the shot.
Zubayr Griffin had 36 points for Binghamton, along with 14 rebounds and three assists.
Shawn Remplet had 12 points for Binghamton and he added 10 rebounds.
Nolyn Proudfoot led Corning with 12 points, 10 in the first half, and Daniels and Kohl Hogue each had 10 points. Hogue had eight in the first half and Daniels had five in the opening quarter.
Corning led 16-14 after one quarter and it was 37-29 at the half with Binghamton leading.
Carter Proudfoot had six points for Corning and Kyler Stevenson finished with three points.
Cooper Bange, Nick Robbins and Arda Herman each had two points for Corning.
