SECTION 4 GIRLS' WRESTLING: ELMIRA HAS FOUR PLACE WINNERS AT SECTIONALS (20 PHOTOS) (2025-02-15)

WAVERLY — Elmira had four place winners at the Section IV Girls’ Wrestling Championships at Waverly High School on Saturday.

Elmira was 15th with 43 points.

Alexis Collins took third at 94 pounds, Ameera Mahmood was sixth at 100, Josalyn Irvin finished sixth at 114 and Emily Moldt was sixth at 165.

After falling in the semifinals, Collins had a 10-0 technical fall win in the consolation round, then had a pin 6:00 over Hannah Giammateo of Harpursville/B-G/Syidney/Unatego in the third-place match.

Alea Hartford went 1-2 on the day for Elmira at 107. She had a pin in 1:26 in her first match.

Irvin had a pin in her first match at 114 in 1:12. After falling in the quarterfinals she had pins in 17 seconds and 1:42 before falling to Lauren Mahon of Corning. Irvin then fell in the fifth-place match. Serenity Rollins went 0-2 at 114.

Callie Comfort was 0-2 at 120. Savannah Hartford was 0-2 at 126.

Atlantis Cherry was 1-2 at 132. She had a 12-2 technical fall win in her first match. Makenna Burnett was 0-2 at 152.

Moldt had a pin in 3:35 to get into the fifth-place match at 165. Mackenzee Davis went 0-1 and then forfeited at 235.
