IAC GIRLS' BASKETBALL: SHORT-HANDED EDISON FIGHTS HARD, BUT FALLS IN CLOSE GAME AT LANSING (2025-02-14)
Southern Tier Sports ReportLANSING — The shorthanded Edison girls’ basketball team went on the road and hung with Lansing all night, falling 46-40.
“Couldn’t be more proud of my team’s effort tonight,” Edison coach Chris Mallette said. “Only had six girls make the trip and two of them were extremely under the weather. Just ran out of gas in the ofurth quarter and only scored two points.”
Edison led 16-9 after one quarter and 27-21 at the half. Lansing fought back and led 39-38 after three quarters, before the Spartans were held to two points in the fourth.
Addison Vendules had 14 points, with six in the third quarter and Mali Huffner finished with 10 points, all of them in the opening quarter.
Maycie Bennett had nine points and Charlee Stroman had three points, while Mattisen Brush and Kailey Ripley each finished with two points.
