STAC BOYS' BASKETBALL: HORSEHEADS DOWNS ITHACA TO CLINCH SPOT IN SECTIONALS (2025-02-11)

ITHACA — The Horseheads boys’ basketball team picked up a 61-55 win over Ithaca on Tuesday night to clinch a spot in sectionals.

After a 2-7 start to the year against a tough schedule, the Blue Raiders earned a spot in the potseason with Tuesday’s victory.

“Proud of the kids for getting through the toughest schedule of anyone in our league,” Horseheads coach Jeff Limoncelli said. “Credit goes to the kids for never letting things go south and letting the grind pay off.”

Horseheads trailed 12-10 after one quarter, before outscoring the Little Red 18-7 in the second to lead 28-19 at the half.

Ithaca outscored Horseheads 24-15 in the third to tie the game after three, but the Blue Raiders scored 18 in the fourth to get the win.

Jack Fesetch had 25 points, with seven threes. He hit two threes in the fourth quarter to help seal the win.

John Durr had 17 points, with three threes. He hit two threes and had eight points in the fourth quarter.

Mason Holloway had eight points, with a pair of threes and Miles Woodhouse had five points.

Griffin Stevens had four points and Keagan Zeller had two points.
