STAC BOWLING: CORNING BOYS WIN END OF YEAR TOURNEY, GIRLS TAKE 3RD AS NELSON, DOWNING POST HIGH SERIES AND GAMES (2025-02-10)

VESTAL — The Corning boys won the end of season tournament, while the girls finished third. The Corning JV boys claimed the STAC Championship on Monday.

For the varsity boys Corning shot 3,231 with a high game of 1,130. The girls shot 2,393 with a high of 809. U-E won the girls tourney at 2,546.

Peyton Nelson had the best series and game for the end of the season tourney for the boys with a 277 game and 750 series.

Kylie Downing had the top series and game for the girls with a 267 game and 631 series.

For the boys Zach Sturdevant had a 245 game, ninth best, and Owen Watson also had a top 15 highest game with a 237.

Sturdevant had the fifth highest series at 672 and Max Aponte (612) and Bentley Goodier (611) had top 15 series for the Hawks. Watson shot a 586 series.

Nelson shot 257-277-216-750, Sturdevant shot 212-215-245-672 and Aponte shot 213-195-204-612, while Goodier shot 202-206-203-611. Watson shot 180-237-169-586.

Jadyn O’Dell had the third highest game for the girls with a 214 and the ninth highest series at 537.

Ayden Hartford shot 309 for two games for Corning and Chelsea Wood shot 291 for two games. Zoe Harmer shot 259 for two games and Ariana VanGorer shot 254 for two games. Dakota Dickerson shot 112 for one game.

Downing shot 267-192-172-631 and O’Dell shot 140-183-214-537.

Hartford shot 176-133-309 and Wood shot 148-143-291, while Harmer shot 91-168 and VanGorder shot 131-123.

For JV boys Corning shot 2,685. Jack Dunning led the way with the highest game for the JV’s with a 237 and also the top series at 612.

Keegon Palmer-Munt shot 590 on the day and Blake Kizis shot a 544 series.
