HIGH SCHOOL BOYS' SWIMMING & DIVING: JARDIN-REED SETS SECTION, POOL TEAM RECORDS IN DIVING (2025-01-17)
Southern Tier Sports ReportCORNING — Brenden Jardin-Reed set the school, pool and Section IV six-dive record on Friday as the Corning boys’ swimming and diving team topped Elmira.
Jardin-Reed won the diving at 378.55. Aiden Ranck of Elmira was second at 199.55 followed by Isaac Kostera of Corning at 126.30.
In the 200 medley relay John McKane, Winston Wu, Derek Guo and Owen VanGorden won in 1:53.24.
In the 200 free Joey Crisco of Corning won in 1:57.83 followed by teammates JP Sierzant (1:59.18) and Kaeden Martinez (2:13.89).
Corning’s Marvin Reimsnyder won the 200 IM in 2:26.47 followed by teammate Wu (2:38.24) and Elmira’s James Lovell in 2:38.77.
Mark Hong of Corning won the 50 free in 24.04 followed by teammates Shawn De Pedro (24.72) and Aaron Giardina (25.47).
Sierzant won the 100 fly in 56.78 followed by De Pedro (1:03.66) and Guo (1:10.99).
McKane won the 100 free in 55.18 followed by teammate Liam Gill (57.90) and Dayne Bush of Elmira (1:05.75).
Henry Mletzko of Elmira took first in the 500 free in 7:13.72. Crisco had the top time, as an exhibition, in 5:18.82 followed by Giardina (6:06.98) and Martinez (6:09.39).
Elmira’s Ranck, Lovell, Cameron Eden and Zxander Gabriel took first in the 200 free relay in 1:54.69. Hong, Crisco, VanGorden and Jardin-Reed had the top time, as an exhibition, in 1:43.10.
Eden took first in the 100 back in 1:16.44 followed by Tyler Duncan in 1:27.60. McKane had the top time, as an exhibition, in 1:01.64 followed by Ethan Yarnell in 1:08.
Gabriel took first in the 100 breaststroke in 1:23.51 followed by Bush in 1:26.93. Hong had the top time, as an exhibition, in 1:09.96 followed by Guo (1:11.29) and Wu (1:16.42).
Ranck, Bush, Lovell and Jace Barr took first in the 400 free relay in 4:34.54 while Corning’s Martinez, McKane, Yarnell and Guo had the top time, as an exhibition, in 4:07.85.
