IAC BOYS' BASKETBALL: SECOND QUARTER KEY AS EDISON FALLS AT GROTON (12 PHOTOS) (2025-01-16)
Southern Tier Sports Report GROTON — The second quarter was a big key again for the Edison boys’ basketball team as they fell to Groton 60-45.
As has been the trend in recent games, the Spartans got off to a strong start, and played well in the second half, but struggled through the second quarter.
On Thursday the Spartans led 15-13 after one quarter, but were outscored 18-5 in the second quarter.
Jaden Bennett and Drew Slaven had 11 points each. Slaven had six in the first quarter and Bennett had six in the fourth quarter.
Zach Piper finished with 10 points for Edison and Talon LaPlante finished with nine points.
