HIGH SCHOOL BOYS' WRESTLING: HORSEHEADS NOTCHES VICTORY OVER TIOGA (15 PHOTOS) (2025-01-14)
Southern Tier Sports Report HORSEHEADS — The Horseheads Blue Raiders wrestling team picked up a 46-21 win over Tioga on Tuesday in a non-league matchup.
Tioga, who had just had their 44-match win streak snapped in their last match against Newark Valley, won the past three Divisiin 2 Duals state titles.
The Tigers got the win at 124 as Logan Bellis won a 17-0 technical fall win in 3:08 over Joel Scibek.
At 131 Gavin Hornsby of Horseheads won 7-4 over Brayden MacWhinnie and at 138 Tioga’s Jayden Duncanson won by technical fall 20-2 in 2:30 over Kole Zufall of Horseheads.
Horseheads’ Jack Clate (145), Zachary Schrage (152) and Coleton Owen (160) all had forfeit wins.
Jaxson Burchard of Horseheads won by technical fall 17-1 in 2:43 over Max Stauder at 170 and Jonah Lamb of Horseheads won 6-3 over James Howey at 190.
Austin Babcock of Tioga won by fall in 3:22 over Martin Huang at 215 and Seamus Carroll of HOrseheads pinned Mark McCane in 4:39 at 285.
Mason Vanderhoff of Horseheads pinned Drayke Ulrich in 1:48 at 101 and at 108 Declan McKee of Tioga won by technical fall 16-0 in 2:16 over Josh Knapp.
