STAC GIRLS' BASKETBALL: ELMIRA NOTCHES WIN OVER MAINE-ENDWELL (2025-01-13)

ELMIRA — The Elmira Express picked up a 55-46 win over Maine-Endwell in STAC action on Monday night.

“Came out a bit flat and kudos to coach Touhey and her squad,” Elmira coach A’Don Allen said. “They played very physical and spirited today. Took us a bit to wake up, but in the fourth quarter we turned up the pressure and worked back into it. Still have a lot of work to do, but wins are wins.”

Elmira trailed 11-9 after one quarter and 24-23 at the half.

The Express outscored the Spartans 32-22 in the second half to get the win.

Mariah Matias had 21 points for Elmira and Addison Taft finished with 12 points.

Meya Smith had nine points, Ashaya Wallace had seven points and Alyvia Woodruff finished with four points.

Alyvia Heath had two points for Elmira.

Kayla Hurba had 15 and Kiki Neal had 14 for Maine-Endwell.
