Rivalry matchups highlight the week of local sports as there is a little bit of everything on the schedule this week.

The Corning and Elmira boys and girls square off this week, while the Horseheads and Elmira boys meet for the second time this season.

Overall there are 36 events this week, including nine on Tuesday.

* The Horseheads bowling team hosts Johnson City, Elmira is at Maine-Endwell, Corning hosts Vestal and Edison is at Groton.
* The Elmira girls’ basketball team hosts Maine-Endwell.

TUESDAY (9)
* The Horseheads swimming and diving team hsots Johnson City.
* The Horseheads wrestling team hosts Tioga, while Corning is at U-E.
* The Elmira boys’ basketbal team hosts Corning, Horseheads hosts Ithaca, Edison is at Lansing and Notre Dame hosts Whitney Point.
* The Edison girls’ basketball team hosts Lansing and Notre Dame is at Whitney Point.

WEDNESDAY (8)
* The Horseheads bowling team is at Binghamnton, Elmira hosts Corning and Edison hosts Newark Valley.
* The Horseheads girls’ wrestling team is at Groton and Elmira’s girls are at Tioga.
* The Horseheads girls’ basketball team is at Ithaca and Corning hosts Elmira.
* The Edison wrestling team is at SVEC.

THURSDAY (4)
* The Edison boys’ basketball team is at Groton and Horseheads hosts Elmira.
* The Elmira wrestling team hosts Newark Valley and Corning is at Ithaca.

FRIDAY (7)
* The Edison bowling team is at O-M.
* The Horseheads, Elmira, Corning, Edison and Notre Dame track and field teams are at Ithaca College, while Corning also has kids at Houghton College.
* The Corning swim and dive team hosts Elmira.
* The Corning wrestling team is at Canandaigua.
* The Corning boys’ basketball team hosts Bath.
* The Edison girls’ basketball taem hosts Notre Dame.

SATURDAY (3)
* The Horseheads girls’ basketball team hosts Hilton.
* The Notre Dame boys’ basketball team is at Towanda.
* The Corning wrestling team is at Canandaigua.
