HIGH SCHOOL BOYS' WRESTLING: HORSEHEADS HAS 2 FINALISTS, TAKES 6TH AT SOUTHERN TIER MEMORIAL (24 PHOTOS) (2025-01-11)

ELMIRA —The Horseheads wrestling team had two finalists, and finished sixth at the 2025 Southern Tier Memorial Boys’ Championship at the Lecom Events Center on Saturday.

Horseheads finished sixth with a score of 125.5. Chambersburg won the title at 193 points.

At 101 pounds Connor McAllister finished fifth for the Blue Raiders. McAllister won by technical fall 20-4 over Caiden Hwalek of Union-Endicott in the fifth-place match.

Josh Knapp finished sixth at 108 pounds for the Blue Raiders. He was edged 11-10 by Chambersburg’s Isaac Brambley n the fifth-place match.

Tanner Knapp finished sixth at 116 pounds. Knapp was edged 1-0 by Rhylee Stotler of Waverly in the fifth-place match.

Zachary Schrage was third at 152 pounds for the Blue Raiders. He won his third-place match by technical fall, 17-0, over Logan Mickey of Chambersburg.

Jaxson Burchard finished eighth at 170 pounds. He was edged 8-3 by Greg Golden of Edison in the seventh-place match.

Hunter Lavigne was in the 190-pound final for the Blue Raiders. He fell by disqualification in the final to Joshua Jorgge of St. Anthony’s.

Lavigne won four matches to get in the final. He had pins in 1:16, 3:41 and in 2:27 in the semifinals and he had a 6-0 win in the quarterfinals.

Seamus Carroll of Horseheads made the final at 285 pounds. He was pinned by Frank Barrientos of Chambersburg in the final in 53 seconds.

Carroll had pins in 1:17, 2:33, 2:53 and 3:40 to get into the final.
