HIGH SCHOOL GIRLS' WRESTLING: STRONG SHOWING FOR LOCAL GIRLS AT SOUTHERN TIER MEMORIAL (24 PHOTOS) (2025-01-11)

ELMIRA — It was a strong showing for local girls in the 2025 Southern Tier Memorial Girls' Championship at the Lecom Events Center on Saturday.

At 94 pounds Alexis Collins of Elmira took fifth. She won the fifth-place match by fall in 5:11. Horseheads’ Brandilyn Beach finished eighth.

Elmira’s Ameera Mahmood was sixth at 100 pounds.

Lily Gullo was a finalist at 107 pounds. She fell by technical fall 10-0 to Windsor’s Krysten Yadlosky in the final. Gullo had four pins to get to the final. Her pins were in 3:19, 1:31, 39 seconds and 2:25.

Lauren Mahon of Corning was third at 114. She had a pin in 47 seconds over Julius Taylor of General Brown in the third-place match.

Kaegan Rhodes of Corning was fifth at 120.

Horseheads’ Chloe Owen was fourth at 126 and Corning’s Devin Price was sixth at 132.

Lily Vesek of Horseheads finished sixth at 138 pounds and at 145 Kendra Close of Corning took seventh. Close won by technical fall 10-0 in the seventh-place match.

Mackenna Burnett of Elmira was third at 152 pounds. She had a pin in 4:40 in the third-place match.

Ava Northrup of Corning took seventh at 185 pounds. She won 11-1 by technical fall in the seventh-place match.

Elmira’s Mackenzee Davis was fourth and Coraline VanSkiver of Corning fifth at 235 pounds. VanSkiver pinned Ava Stacy of Binghamton-Seton Catholic in the fifth-place match.

Corning was seventh at 89.5. Niagara Wheatfield won at 138.5. Horseheads was 12th at 80.0 followed by Elmira at 68.5.
