IAC GIRLS' BASKETBALL: O'CONNELL SCORES 22 AS ND TOPS LANSING (2025-01-10)

LANSING — The Notre Dame girls’ basketball team went on the road and topped Lansing 54-32 on Friday night.

Notre Dame led 16-10 after one quarter and 24-18 at the half.

In the second half the Crusaders held Lansing to 16 points, two in the fourth quarter, to pull away for the win.

Leah O’Connell hit six threes on her way to 22 points to lead Notre Dame. O’Connell had eight in the first quarter, with two threes, and 11 in the third quarter, with three threes.

Payton Sutryk had 18 points, six in the fourth quarter, and Kalysta DeMark had 11 points, with two threes.

Jhamariah Maxwell finished with two points.

DeMark had five rebounds, five assists and seven steals for Notre Dame and Emily Coseo had three assistgs and a rebound.

O’Connell had four rebounds and a steal and Molly O’Connell had two rebounds.

Sutryk had eight rebounds, two steals and an assist and Maxwell had seven rebounds, three assists and two steals.
