SOUTHPORT — Notre Dame rallied back in the second half, but came up just short against Newark Valley on Tuesday night, 58-55.

Newark Valley led 33-20 at the half, but Notre Dame scored 35 second-half points to get back into the game.

Payton Sutryk had a double-double for the Crusaders with 22 points and 11 rebounds. She had 14 points in the second half and made eight free throws in the game.

Leah O’Connell had 15 points, with four threes, and Kalysta Denmark had seven points.

Jhamariah Maxwell had five points and Emily Coseo had four points in the game.

Denmark had four rebounds, four assists and two steals and Coseo had eight rebounds.

O’Connell had three rebounds, an assist and a steal and Maxwell had six reobunds, two steals, two blocked shots and an assist.

Adriana Finta had 16 points and Adriana Rich finished with 14 points.
