HIGH SCHOOL GIRLS' BASKETBALL: ELMIRA WINS AT U-E TO MOVE TO 4-0 ON THE YEAR (2024-12-17)

Southern Tier Sports Report
ENDICOTT — The Elmira girls’ basketball team moved to 4-0 on the year, all of those wins coming on the road, as they beat Union-Endicott 58-41 on Tuesday.

Mariah Matias had 22 points to lead Elmira and Alyvia Woodruff had 12 points.

Addison Taft finished with 10 points, while Ashaya Wallace had seven points.

“Good, gritty win for us tonight,” Elmira coach A’Don Allen said. “Four consecutive games away from home to start our season is tough, but to start with four consecutive wins is a good way to start the season.

“We’ve got some pretty big goals this season, so we still have a lot of work to do. But, four wins in four games on the road to start the season is a great way to start.”

U-E won the JV game. Ava Roberts led Elmira’s JV team.
