STSR PRESENTS THE DRAKE HVAC ATHLETES OF THE WEEK: ELMIRA'S SMITH AND CORNING'S GOODIER (2024-12-17)

There were a lot of great performances this week, leading to some tough choices for the athlete of the week honors. In the end, it was Elmira’s Meya Smith and Bentley Goodier of Corning who are the Southern Tier Sports Report, sponsored by Drake HVAC Heating Ventilation Air Conditioning Athletes of the Week.

Meya Smith
Elmira, girls' basketball
The MVP of the Charlie Sibley Tournament to kick off the season. Had 29 points and 14 rebounds in the championship game win over Owego. Had 18 points and 11 rebounds in the opener against Moravia, a team that won a state title last year.

Bentley Goodier
Corning, bowling
Had a 300 game for Corning bowling against Vestal. Had a 681 series to lead the Hawks to the win.
