HIGH SCHOOL GIRLS' BASKETBALL: HORSEHEADS OPENS SEASON WITH VICTORY (24 PHOTOS) (2024-12-07) Southern Tier Sports Report ELMIRA — The Horseheads girls’ basketball team opened the season with a 61-44 win over West Genesee at the Elmira College H.S. Hoops Holiday Invitational on Saturday.
Megan Wolf led Horseheads with 23 points and Emma Kamas finished with 12 points.
Wolf had nine pionts in the fourth quarter, including a three-pointer. Horseheads went 7-for-7 in the final quarter from the free throw line.
Jordyn Gross had eight points, going 6-for-6 from the line in the game.
Kaylyn Cook had six points, with two threes, and Sammie Bonnell had eight points ,with five free throws and a three-pointer.
