Southern Tier Sports Report ELMIRA — The Horseheads girls’ wrestling team opened the season with a 40-15 victory over Corning at Elmira College on Thursday night.
Wrestling before the Elmira College women beat Lock Haven, the Blue Raiders started the year strong.
Horseheads’ Brandilyn Beach won by forfeit at 94 pounds for Horseheads and There was no matches at 100 and 107 pounds.
Lily Gullo of Horseheads pinned Kyleigh Radbourn at 114.
Lauren Mahon of Corning pinned Harley Ackerman at 120 and Keegan Rhodes of Corning won by forfeit at 126.
Chloe Owen of Horseheads won by forfeit at 132 and Lily Vesek of Horseheads pinned Jenna Comer of Corning at 138.
Morgan Evans of Horseheads pinned Rhyss Padgett at 145.
Corning’s Devon Price won by forfeit at 152 and at 165 Narayani Wiehe of Horseheads pinned Kendra Close, while Horseheads Kirsten Davis got a forfeit win at 185.
