Southern Tier Sports ReportCORNING — The Elmira boys opened the season with a 4-1 win over Horseheads on Monday afternoon.
There was no girls match as Horseheads has just a boys team this season.
Elmira shot 1,142, 1,170 and 980 for a 3,292 and Horseheads shot 1,083, 1,015 and 985 for a 3,003.
Logan Card led Elmira with a 212-279-191-682 and Trent Belloma shot 244-225-205-674 while Alex Gable shot 202, 248, 224 for a 674.
Frankie D’Angelo shot 235, 204 and 167 for a 606, while Peyton Rozell shot 249-214 for a 463 over two games, while Skylar Shattuck shot 193 for one game.
Cayden Bowman shot 215-194-255-664, while Michael Rennells shot 244-189-211-644.
Noah Cody shot 225-201-213-639, while Zach Kathan shot 237-226-154-617 and Landon Ayres shot 162-205-152-519.
In the JV match Horseheads shot 851, 828 and 768 for a 2,447, while Elmira shot 600, 618 and 636 for a 1,854.
Robert Guardi led Horseheads with a 226-202-158-586 and Gabe Merrill shot 200-148-167-515, while Zane Alexander had a 150-191-170-511.
Owen Wood shot 123-141-156-420 and Annabelle Guardi shot 152-146-117-415.
