Southern Tier Sports Report
A pair of local graduates helped the Williams women’s swimming and diving team pick up a second straight win, as they topped Springfield 204-78.

Horseheads graduate Sophia Verkleeren, a freshman, continued her strong swimming to start the season, winning the 200 and 100 free and finishing just behind teammate Lillian Bushway in the 400 IM.

Notre Dame graduate Molly Craig was a part of the winning 400 free relay, with a split in the fast 53s for the former Crusaders star.

In the first meet of the year the team beat Springfield 196.5-94.5. Verkleeren was a part of the winning 400 medley relay team, with Vekleeren putting up a 58.3 in the 100 backstroke portion to put the team over two seconds over the field.

The Horseheads graduate also won the 50 free in 24.91 and showed her versatility to also win the 200 back in 2:09.3. Craig tied for second in the 50 free in 24.95.
