Southern Tier Sports Report ELMIRA — The Elmira College women's wrestling program hosted the East Stroudsburg University Warriors in a battle of two nationally ranked programs recently inside Speidel Gymnasium. The Soaring Eagles recorded their second win in the head-to-head matchup against the Warriors with a 31-19 final score.

HOW IT HAPPENED: • Joycedeliz Rodriguez Santiago '28 opened the match for the Purple & Gold with a forfeit victory at 103 pounds to put EC up 5-0. • Abby Duke '26 followed with an upset victory at 110 pounds for Elmira as Duke entered the bout ranked No. 9 in the latest NWCA Coaches Poll, while ESU's Emily Klein entered the bout No. 8 for the Warriors. Duke notched a 4-1 decision against Klein to put EC up 8-1 in the match. • ESU responded with a pair of victories via fall at 117 and 124 pounds to take an 11-10 lead against the Soaring Eagles. • Gabby Bradigan '26 would put the Purple & Gold back on top as she pinned her opponent in just 37 seconds at 131 pounds to make it 15-11. • The huge momentum shift of the match would come at 138 pounds as Ragan Retell '28 went head-to-head with All-American Zoe Gress from ESU. Trailing late in the bout, Retell would storm back to record the final points and notch a 6-5 decision against Gress. • No. 4 ranked Zoey Lints '27 would need just 45 seconds to notch a pin for the Purple & Gold at 145 pounds to give Elmira a 23-12 advantage over East Stroudsburg. • In a battle of All-Americans at 160 pounds, ESU's Tiffani Baublitz would notch a pin against Elmira's Skylah Chakouian '25 one minute and 38 seconds into the bout. Baublitz entered the bout ranked No. 5, while Chakouian was ranked No. 6. • Hazel Dahlquist '25 recorded a pin for Elmira at 180 pounds to give the Soaring Eagles a 28-18 lead in the match, while Tayana Labady '25 put the exclamation point on the match for the Purple & Gold with a 3-2 decision at 207 pounds to secure the 31-19 victory. • Horseheads graduate Hailey Berry wrestled an exhibition bout at 131 pounds for Elmira.
