COLLEGE FOOTBALL: FREEMAN IV HAS BACK-TO-BACK 100 YARD RUSHING GAMES FOR ALFRED, CLOSING IN ON 3,000 CAREER RUSHING YARDS (2024-11-12)

Corning graduate Max Freeman IV has had back-to-back 100 yard rushing games for the Alfred football team.

In a win over St. John Fisher he gained 106 yards on 22 carries, and then he followed that up with 14 carries for a season-high 122 yards and two scores in a win over Hartwick, 51-0.

Against Fisher he also had a career day receiving with six catches for 80 yards and a touchdown, as he racked up 186 all-purpose yards in the game.

Freeman IV has had three 100 yard games in the past four weeks as he had 107 yards on 16 carries, with a long of 39 yards, and one catch for 14 yards in a game against defending national champion Cortland.

After gaining 333 yards in the first five games of the year Freeman IV has 416 yards over the past four games.

Overall this year Freeman has 144 carries for 749 yards and six scores and 20 catches for 167 yards and two scores.

Freeman IV has had seasons best in catches, receiving yards, rushing yards and longest run and catch, along with rushing touchdowns in a game all int he past two seeks.

Alfred is 6-3 on the year. After falling to Cortland, they have won three straight over Utica, Fisher and Hartwick.

Alfred hosts Brockport at 1 p.m. on Saturday.

The senior captain has exceeded last year’s rushing total and matched last year’s touchdown total. His career best was in 2022 when he gained 931 yards and nine scores on 222 carries. Freeman IV is 99 yards away from 3,000 for his career.

Freeman has 63 catches for 432 yards in his career. He’s 68 away from 500 receiving yards in his career. He has 27 career touchdowns.
