SECTION 4 DIVING: CORNING GOES 3-4 AT SECTION 4, CLASS A DIVING (14 PHOTOS) (2024-11-11) Southern Tier Sports Report ELMIRA — Corning’s Cella McLaughlin was third, followed by teammate Wendy Lynch at the Section 4, Class A Diving Championships recently.
McLaughlin had a score of 446.00 followed by Lynch at 406.70. Vestal’s Olivia Tanton won at 477.15 followed by Ithaca’s Jessica Swart (452.75).
Horseheads’ Mackenzie Blauvelt was fifth in 371.45 while teammate Sophia Jones was seventh at 304.55 followed by teammate Emma Fowler (286.95) and Elmira’s Ellie Johnson (273.15).
In Class B Kaelyn Katchuk of Owego broke the Class B championship record with a score of 586.20. She won her fifth straight Class B title, the first ever diver to win Class B five times.
Maine-Endwell’s Madison Morris was second at 566.65 followed by Owego’s Ayla Young (494.95).
