GIRLS' SOCCER: NOTRE DAME FALLS IN REGIONAL FINAL (14 PHOTOS) (2024-11-10) Southern Tier Sports Report ONEONTA — The season came to an end for the Notre Dame girls’ soccer team in the regional final against Cincinnatus, 5-0.
“We played hard against the best competition we saw this year,” Notre Dame coach Joe Picco said.
Being on our back foot from the first couple of minutes didn’t allow us to get in the type of rhythm we needed to compete. At Notre Dame we won’t sulk over defeat, we are committed to become better for it.”
The Crusaders faced a tough opponent whose roster if full of girls who play year round.
“Cincinnati’s was all quality,” Picco said. “Understood the game, were great with their feet and extremely fast.
Our girls gave our seniors everything they could and we need to be proud of that. It was an extremely good season. At Notre Dame we reserve ‘great’ for seasons that we are winning state titles.” ———— PROVIDED PHOTOS.
