COLLEGE CROSS COUNTRY: LOCALS SHINE FOR COLLEGE CROSS COUNTRY TEAMS (2024-11-05)

Horseheads graduate Samantha Oakes helped the Allegheny College women’s cross country team capture their third Presidents’ Athletic Conference Championship in three seasons.

Oakes finished 34th overall in the race in 25:16.2.

Elmira graduate Caleb Belanger helped Roberts Wesleyan win their 10th straight East Coast Conference Championship.

Belanger finished fifth overall in 26:18.1. He was third on the team for Roberts Wesleyan.

Corning graduate Alicia Lawson finished 47th for Rochester at the UAA Cross Country Championship. Lawson finished in 23:12. She was fifth on her team.

Corning graduate D.J. Cornfield runs for Milligan University. At the Appalachian Challenge he was 33rd overall in 25:25. On Friday Milligan runs in the AAC Cross Country Championship.

Corning graduate Taylor Farrell runs for Suffolk. She was 163rd at the NEICAAA Cross Country Championships in 22:02.3.

Corning’s Olivia Grinnell had a top 15 finish at the Empire 8 Championships. Grinnell, a St. John Fischer junior, was 15th in 23:03.1. Corning grad Ella Grinnell was 35th for Geneseo in 23:52.

Elmira grad Ben Allen was 31st in the men’s race at the Empire 8 Championships. Running for Houghton, Allen finished in 26:03.4.

Corning graduate, and former CCC standout, Hayden Allington finished 62nd in the men’s race for Brockport in 27:07.

Corning graduate Olivia Murch was third on her team, and 19th overall, with a time of 24:14.82 for the Gordon College cross country team at the CNE Championships.

Horseheads graduate Ayla Kerwan finished 46th at the Landmark Championship for Susquehanna with a PR of 25:09.60.

Horseheads graduate Cael Owen ran for the Lycoming men in 33:15.4.

Elmira graduate Nasir King was 38th for Morrisville at the SUNYAC Championships in 28:54.2.

Corning graduate Cristina Gaskievicz was 32nd for Oswego State in the women’s race at the SUNYAC Championships in 26:38.4.
