COLLEGE CROSS COUNTRY: CORNING GRAD BUTLER EARNS ALL-REGION HONORS

Corning graduate Lindsey Butler earned All-Region honors for the Virginia Tech cross country team earlier this month.
Butler led the Hokies at the NCAA Southeast Regional in Louisville, Kentucky. The Virginia Tech women took sixth as a team.
Butler was the top Hokies runner, finishing in 22nd place. The junior finished the 6K in 20:49.7 to earn All-Region honors for the first time in her career.
Butler had previously earned All-ACC honors for Virginia Tech, finishing 15th at the ACC Championships at Notre Dame.
Butler continued her impressive season by making up six spots in the final 1.2 kilometers to cross the line in 20:46 to become the first Virginia Tech runner since 2019 to earn All-ACC Honors.
Butler helped the women’s team take seventh at the ACC Championships.
In an invitational at Notre Dame in October the former Corning star was 34th overall and 10th against ACC Competition.
