Southern Tier Sports ReportALLEGANY — Down 20-8 the Edison football team scored 16 fourth-quarter points to rally for a 24-20 win at Allegany-Limestone to wrap up the regular season.
“This was a great way to end the regular season,” Edison coach Kyle Erickson said. “We made mistakes, we made great plays. I am so impressed by our team. They never got down on themselves when we were down.
“Down 20-8 and score 16 in the fourth quarter. Man just so proud of our team. Jace Schiller and Nico Cheplick stepped up big for players with injuries.”
Greg Golden had Edison’s first score, a three-yard run at 2:55 of the first quarter and Schiller had the two-point try.
Paxton Hoover caught a six-yard pass from Schiller at 7:20 of the fourth quarter and Reyes McAtee had the two-point run.
Golden had the game winner with 3:58 left on a 19-yard run and Schiller had the two-point try to cap the scoring.
Schiller ran for 74 yards on 12 carries and Golden had 68 yards on 12 carries. McAtee ran for 40 yards and Zimmear Young ran for seven yards.
Schiller threw for 49 yards. Hoover had two catches for 47 yards.
