HORSEHEADS — The Horseheads football team has a chance to wrap up home field through the playoffs and the division title as they host Union-Endicott tonight.

“Kids are excited for a chance to compete for home field advantage and a division title,” Horseheads coach Kevin Hillman said.”

The Blue Raiders know what is at stake tonight.

“It’s huge,” Hillman said. “The opportunity is there for the taking if we can remain focused and play our game.”

With the playoffs looming next week the Blue Raiders know it’s crucial to not look ahead.

“Extremely important,” Hillman said. “We still have a lot of things we want to accomplish, and it starts tonight. Hopefully, we can play well and have an opportunity to get home field going into the playoffs.”

The Blue Raiders know that the Tigers are playing well recently.

“Athletic and aggressive,” Hillman said. “Their record is deceiving, they are a much better team than what their record is. They just played a close game with Vestal. They’ll be ready to go tonight. We need to be able to match their intensity from the get go.”

For Horseheads the key is to be fundamental.

“Discipline on both sides of the ball is the key,” Hillman said.
