COLLEGE SWIMMING: HORSEHEADS GRADUATE MCCAWLEY HAVING DOMINANT START TO SEASON FOR SOUTHERN CONNECTICUT (2021-11-23)
Southern Tier Sports ReportHorseheads graduate Lindsay McCawley is off to a dominant start to the season for the Southern Connecticut State women’s swimming and diving team.
McCawley picked up her fourth victory of the season during a 193-95 loss to Iona.
McCawley won the 500 free in 5:19.17 and she also was on the 200 free relay team that picked up a win in 1:44.55.
McCawley’s time in the 500 free was McCawley’s season-best, beating a 5:36.63 she swam at Fairfield. It was also the best time turned in by a Southern Connecticut swimmer this year.
In the previous meet, a 149-149 tie with Worcester Polytechnic the Horseheads graduate won three events, including the 200 fly with a time of 2:15.18 and the 200 breaststroke in 2:33.46, along with the 400 IM in 4:46.65.
At the Fairfield Invitational the Horseheads graduate had a pair of fifth-place finishes int he 400 free (4:51.96) and the 200 IM (2:34.52).
