Southern Tier Sports Report OWEGO — The Corning volleyball team was edged in the STAC Championship, falling to Owego in five sets on Tuesday night.
After both teams played five-set matches in the semifinals, it was another five-set showdown in the final, with Owego winning 25-22, 23-25, 25-21, 26-28, 15-9.
Shannon Maslin had 14 digs for Owego and Kayla Newman had 11 digs and six aces.
Maggie Hamed had 11 digs with 25 kills and Sofia Silvanic had 10 digs.
Lexi Herceg had 47 assists in the match and Logan Georgia had 11 kills and eight blocks.
