SECTION 4 GIRLS' SWIMMING & DIVING: ELMIRA PICKS UP VICTORY OVER NOTRE DAME (2024-10-25)

ELMIRA — The Elmira girls’ swimming and diving team picked up an 89-75 win over Notre Dame on Thursday night.

Eleanor Hagan, Ava Sherman, Maren Novotny and Madelyn Cavalier won the 200 medley relay in 2:13.51 and in the 200 free Novotny won in 2:30.51 followed by teammate Payton Dotts (2:32.84) and Notre Dame’s Ella Cain (2:35.93).

Cavalier won the 200 IM in 2:36.75 followed by Notre Dame’s Leah Gonzalez in 2:36.98 and Bridget Hagan of Elmira in 2:49.20.

Charlotte Welliver of Notre Dame won the 50 free in 27.57 followed by teammate Alexis Collins (28.34) and Sherman in 28.56.

Ellie Johnston of Elmira won the diving at 190.50 and Cavalier won the 100 fly in 1:09.92 followed by teammates Aubrey Newkirk (1:20.43) and Kaydence Green (1:20.65).

Collins won the 100 free in 1:03.29 followed by Welliver (1:03.92) and Notre Dame teammate Isabella Mashewske (1:08.39).

Sherman won the 500 free in 6:19.55 followed by Notre Dame’s Hannah Gonzalez (6:39.71) and Alyssa Murphy of Elmira in 7:18.20.

Notre Dame’s Welliver, Cain, Mashewske and Collins won the 200 free relay in 2:00.01.

Mashewske won the 100 back in 1:21.29 followed by teammate Sara Cupello in 1:37.63. Dotts had the top time as an exhibition in 1:16.45 followed by teammate Scarlett Hollenbeck (1:19.15).

Leah Gonzalez won the 100 breaststroke in 1:26.45 followed by Newkirk (1:29.70) and Cain (1:33.02).

Welliver, Hannah and Leah Gonzalez and Collins won the 400 free relay in 4:24.39.
