HORSEHEADS — Corning had two teams reach the Gold bracket, while Horseheads also reached the gold bracket at their tournament on Saturday.

Corning Black, which is their varsity team, won their quarterfinal over Horseheads, before falling to eventual champion Pottsville in the semifinals of the Gold Bracket.

Horseheads got into the gold bracket as the fifth seed, while Corning was the fourth seed.

Corning’s JV team, Corning Gold, was the sixth seed and they fell to eventual runner-up Baldwinsvilel in the gold bracket quarterfinals.

Elmira made the silver bracket final.

The Express were the third seed in the silver bracket and they beat Whitney Point, and second-seeded Tioga before falling to Lansing in the final.

Corning’s varsity was 5-1 in pool play. Corning’s JV was 4-2 in pool play.
