EIGHT-MAN FOOTBALL: GOLDEN RUNS FOR 255 YARDS, MCATEE SCORES FOUR TIMES IN EDISON WIN (2024-10-18)

GROTON — The Edison football team won for the third time in four games, moving to 3-3 on the year with a 44-6 win over Groton on Friday night as Greg Golden ran for 255 yards in the game.

Golden had a monster game for the Spartans. He ran 23 times in the game, gaining 255 yards in the win. He had four carries over 20 yards in the game, including two over 50 yards.

Golden had two touchdowns in the game and Reyes McAtee had four touchdowns for the Spartans.

McAtee ran for 86 yards for the Spartans as Edison ran for 359 yards in the game.

Drew Slaven threw for 77 yards in the game. Zachary Piper had four catches in the game for 45 yards and Paxton Hoover had two grabs for 15 yards. McAtee and Golden each had catches in the game.

McAtee started the scoring at 2:01 in the first quarter on a five-yard run and Golden ran in from a yard out at 10:50 of the second quarter and from 11 yards out at 9:26 of the third quarter.

McAtee scored on 45 and 12 yard runs in the third quarter and on a 15-yard run in the fourth quarter.
