IAC BOYS' SOCCER: NOTRE DAME EDGED 1-0 BY SVEC IN REGULAR SEASON FINALE (20 PHOTOS) (2024-10-16)

SPENCER — The Notre Dame boys’ soccer team was edged 1-0 by SVEC to wrap up the regular season on Wednesday night.

Kyle Jantz scored off an assist from Noah Banks in the 14th minute for the only goal of the game.

SVEC had seven shots and Notre Dame had five. Jackson Potter had six saves for the Crusaders and Class Huenecke had four for SVEC.

Jason Banks got his 100th win as coach for SVEC.

Notre Dame was forced to play the final 25 minutes a man down. SVEC. Missed a penalty kick with 15 minutes left and Notre Dame just missed on a pair of long direct kicks.

“Coach Lansing and I are really proud of how the team handled themselves today,” Banks said. “We knew going into the game that Elmira Notre Dame had an organized defense and a quality keeper so we had to take advantage of the few chances we were going to get.”
