THE WEEK AHEAD: REGULAR SEASON WINDS DOWN AS BUSIEST DAY OF THE WEEK IS TUESDAY (2024-10-14)

As the regular season winds down for fall sports, the first day of games, after a holiday on Monday, is the busiest with nine events on Tuesday, including the STAC Golf Championships.

Overall there are 22 events on the week.

Here’s a day-by-day look at this week’s schedule, including how many events each day.

TUESDAY (9)
* The Horseheads, Elmira and Corning golf teams have athletes at the STAC Championships at Mark Twain.
* The Corning girls’ swimming and diving team hosts Horseheads.
* The Horseheads girls’ soccer team hosts Waverly, Elmira is at Groton and Edison hosts Union Springs.
* The Horseheads volleyball team is at Corning and Elmira hosts Ithaca.
* The Horseheads cheer team hosts Elmira, Johnson City, Ithaca and Chenango Valley. The Corning cheer team is at Susquehanna Valley.

WEDNESDAY (3)
* The Horseheads volleyball team is at Candor and Edison is at Whitney Point.
* The Notre Dame boys’ soccer team is at SVEC.

THURSDAY (4)
* The Horseheads, Corning and Elmira tennis teams have athletes at sectionals at Union-Endicott.
* The Horseheads girls’ soccer team is at Chenango Forks.
* The Elmira vollyeball team hosts Binghamton.
* The Notre Dame swimming and diving team is at Dryden.

FRIDAY (4)
* The Corning football team hosts Elmira and Horseheads is at Vestal, while Edison is at Groton.
* The Edison volleyball team hosts Lansing.

SATURDAY (2)
* The Notre Dame, Edison, Corning, Horseheads and Elmira cross country teams are at the Marathon Invite.
* The Horseheads, Corning and Elmira volleyball teams are at the Horseheads Tournament.
