IAC GIRLS' SOCCER: NOTRE DAME PICKS UP VICTORY AT SVEC (2024-10-11)

SPENCER — The Notre Dame girls’ soccer team went on the road and topped SVEC 6-2 on Friday night.

Makenna Keough scored three minutes into the game off an assist from Jhamariah Maxwell. Maxwell drove to the endline and Keough volleyed the ball out of the air and into the net.

Seven minutes later Maxwell again set up Keough for a goal.

With 10 minutes left in the half MK Young scored off a Keough assist.

SVEC was awarded a penalty kick with two minutes left int he half and scored.

Keough scored again off a Maxwell assist in the second half when Maxwell drove to the endline and placed a well played ball back to the six.

Maxwell scored off a great corner from Emily Coseo.

SVEC scored on a free kick from just outside the box.

The final goal was a Keough corner that Maxwell scored on.

“We were playing on tired legs on grass for only the second time this year,” Notre Dame coach Joe Picco said. “The tired legs helped in moments by playing better soccer and hurt us with not being able to capitalize.

“The SVE coach has done a great job with his program tis year. Hats off to him playing short handed.”
