CORNING — The Corning volleyball team fell to unbeaten Owego on Monday night, falling 25-21, 25-20, 25-19.

Piper Emmick had five points, an ace, four kills, three assists, a block and 17 digs for Corning and Teresa Hacker had seven kills, two blocks and two digs.

Madison Wood had three points, a kill, 20 assists and eight digs and Gracee Work had nine points, two aces, five kills and nine digs.

“Big win tonight,” Owego coach Abby Manning said of her team as they moved to 10-0 “We gained a lot of confidence after tonight’s win. Corning is a solid team and are extremely scrappy. We played as a unit and even when we were battling back and forth, we were able to win those long rallies.”

Shannon Maslin had 21 digs for Owego and Maggie Hamed had 16 kills and nine digs.

Sofia Silvanic had eight digs and two aces and Lexi Herceg had 37 assists and two aces, while Kayla Newman had 10 kills and Evelyn House had seven kills.

Bella Miller had two aces and Logan Georgia finished with a block.

Corning won the JV match 25-9, 25-22, 25-12.

Char Starns had seven kills, three blocks and three digs and Delaney Castle had nine kills, four digs, an ace and three points.

Paisley Emmick had a kill, seven assists, five digs and 10 points and Sophie Schoonover had two kills, 10 digs and three points.
