HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL: ELMIRA SET FOR ROAD GAME AT VESTAL (2024-09-20)

It was a tough loss in week one for the Elmira Express as they were edged by a touchdown against St. Peter’s in which the game ended with Elmira being stopped at the oe yard line.

“Our kids played tough last week,” Elmira coach Jimmy McCauley said.

A week ago Elmira was coming in with no games played, and no scrimmages played this year, while St. Peter’s already had two games under their belt.

With a game under their belt now the Express are looking to keep growing as a team the more the year goes on.

“We take each day and try to get better,” McCauley said.

The Express know they face a tough test again this week.

“Vestal is a good team, they can run it and throw it,” McCauley said.

Elmira knows they have to play as a team this week.

“WE have to play team football and execute the game plan,” McCauley said.
