EDISON READY FOR ANOTHER ROAD GAME AT TRUMANSBURG (2024-09-20)

Southern Tier Sports Report
The Edison football team are hitting the road for the second straight week as they head to Trumansburg for a matchup tonight.

“We would love to have had a chance to play home at this point, but we are just looking forward to playing a game, home or away,” Edison coach Kyle Erickson said.

A week ago a tough second quarter was the difference in a loss at Wellsville.

“We are in good spirits after week one,” Erickson said. “It was a tough loss, we made a few mistakes at the end of the first half that put us behind, but us coaches loved how we performed in the second half.”

The Spartans learned a lot in last week’s game.

“We learned we can play with the bigger roster teams,” Erickson said. “I also think we found a lot of team chemistry last week and we hope it carries over to this week.”

Edison knows they face another tough test this week.

“They are a very good football team,” Erickson said. “The quarterback is very talented and they have fast wide receivers that try to throw a lot.”

The Spartans know they have to limit turnovers and big plays in the game.

“Offensively we must put together drives to maintain the clock control and not turn the ball over,” Erickson said. “On defense we must limit the big plays from Trumansburg and we need to force turnovers.”
