GIRLS' SWIMMING & DIVING: ELMIRA FALLS TO VESTAL (2024-09-17)

ELMIRA — The Elmira swimming and diving team was edged by Vestal on Tuesday, 91-84.

In the 200 IM Bridget Hagan took third for Elmira in 2:49.25.

In the 50 free Ava Sherman was second in 28.12 followed by teammate Leah Church in 29.91.

Ellie Johnson of Elmira was second in diving at 169.70.

Madelyn Cavalier won the 100 fly in 1:09.35 and Maren Novotny was third in the 100 free in 1:07.22.

Sherman was third in the 500 in 6:34.92 and in the 100 back Cavalier took first in 1:11.35 followed by teammates Scarlett Hollenbeck (1:21.45) and Alana Brink (1:28.80).

Aubrey Newkirk took first in the 100 breaststroke in 1:32.79 followed by teammates Eleanor Hagan (1:33.97) and Alyssa Murphy (1:35.10).

Elmira’s Sherman, Novotny, Newkirk and Cavalier took first in the 400 free relay in 4:36.29.
