STAC GOLF: CORNING SHOOTS SEASON-BEST SCORE TO TOP ELMIRA (2024-09-17)
Southern Tier Sports ReportCORNING — The Corning golf team turned in their best performance of the year to pick up a win over Elmira at Corning Country Club on Tuesday afternoon.
Corning shot a season-best 194, while Elmira was at 216.
“This is the team and the scores I thought we could have all season,” Corning coach Chris Clark said. “It has taken us a while to find our confidence but hopefully we can string together a few victories in a row now.”
Bryce Clark and Dom Dinardo shared medalist honors for Corning wirh rounds of 38.
Ethan Ford and Connor Reed each shot rounds of 39 and Sam Masaki had a 40. Dom Weed had a 43.
Elmira was led by Jackson Cavalier with a 39 and Quinn Hanrahan shot a 42.
Logan Demember, Joe Mastrantonio and Will McLane each shot rounds of 45 and Ryan Ferraro shot a 48.
Extra golfers for Corning included Finn Barber with a 41 and Caden Barrett had a 44.
Dom Falls shot a 41, Brayden Edon a 43 and Landon Davis a 46, while Trenton Edwards had a 48 for Elmira.
